I discovered what I fear the most.
That cage that we build for our minds.
The one that we get used to and grow old in.
The cage that keeps us happy and content.
But never sets us free.
That is what I fear the most.
It builds up to a point where it never really occurs to us that we've grown used to being in our skin. Over the years, sharing a culture seems alien. Over the years, picking up a conversation with a stranger seems nerve wrecking.
We chain ourselves to our experience and live a pattern that we've built, that we've felt secure in.
To try and make a businessman do charity, is like giving a genuine monk, a ferrari.
We can be influenced easily by the things and people who carve our daily lives. But deep inside, it doesn't really change our nature unless we see the light of something better. Unless we reach saturation in the things we do and the thoughts we have, those actions and habits are difficult to change. And saturation needn't be subjective to quantity or time. Its merely the time for the mind.
Everyone is addicted to goodness in its entirety. All of us want to be happy, content and peaceful. We want something to instill excitement, that extra spark to keep the love for life going. All our actions encircle that notion. Taking care of our children, doing our job, Planning for supper, moving that strand of hair from your face, everything we do to make ourselves comfortable and whole.
What do you know..
You know just what you believe.
What can you show..
Nothing of what you perceive.
And in the end, each thread of life that you lead,
Will spin around your soul.
And will sow your seeds.
The mind's a constant confusion.
It runs even when i hit the sack.
The past, a persuasive illusion.
And i'm watching the future.
But its black.
Now's all i've got.
To add more living to life.
Unchain my soul from my self.
To really feel free when i'm given freedom.
To live many lives by living in others.
To know that you are what i'm.
And to realise that "to know" is not
As eternal as wisdom.
Have a great week folks.
Athiya.
